Early
reports from polling stations around the country indicate
a high voter turnout for today’s federal and
regional elections, the Chairman of the NEBE Kemal
Bedri reported at lunch time today.
Kemal said the election process was proceeding well,
with no major problems reported to officials at NEBE
headquarters.
“The voting process was proceeding slowly, but
has picked up as the day has progressed. Election
officials have installed more secret voting booths
to help speed up the process,” the chairman
said.
Kemal reminded the electorate that all voters who
are queuing at polling stations when they are due
to close at 6p.m. will be allowed to cast their ballots.
