NEBE Launches Website, press and Public Information Unit

The National Electoral board of Ethiopia (NEBE) is pleased to announce the launch of its new website ( www.electionsethiopia.org) and the establishment of a new press and public Information Unit.

This is part of the NEBE’s efforts to provide the public with all information related to the upcoming elections slated for May 15, 2005.

The NEBE’s website contains information about the organization and operation of the elections, the legal framework behind it, as well as regular updates about the election process.

The Website was developed with the support of Electoral Reform International Services (ERIS) which is coordinating donor funding for the current election process in Ethiopia.

The Press and Public Information Unit will be responsible for handling media-related issues of the Board. The Press Unit will also organize regular press conference sessions for local and international journalists.
